IHMS Sock Hop
Over the past few years, IHMS has eliminated the traditional evening school dance in favour of an afternoon sock hop. In fact, the only evening dance that IHMS still hosts is the graduation dance at the end of June.

Compared to an evening dance, an afternoon sock hop is much more convenient for everybody involved. Since the grade 7 and 8 students are already at school, they all have a chance to remain behind and participate in the sock hop. Also, students are picked up only once by their parents at the end of the dance.

On Monday, October 19, the IHMS student council held a sock hop in the school gym for the grade 7 and 8 students. The sock hop ran from 2:30 in the afternoon to 5:00, and music was provided by the student council via an iPod on a dock with speakers. Admission was $5.00, and included two pieces of pizza, two cups of iced tea, and a treat bag. Prizes were given to students with the best dressed socks.
