Sr. Georgia was recently asked to assist Sr. Anne Pidskalny in the Kindergarten and Sadochok program for the 2009 - 2010 school year. She graciously agreed to answer a few questions, which she did with the help of a few other Sisters who helped translate the questions into Ukrainian, and the answers into English!

Q: How long have you been in Canada?
A: I have been in Canada for 5 months. For the first two months, I lived in Toronto, and the next two months in Ancaster, Ontario. I have been living in Winnipeg for 1 month now.

Q: Where did you grow up and where did you go to school?
A: I was born and grew up in Ukraine. I finished my schooling also in Ukraine. I moved to Serbia to enter the community, the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate and began my Novitiate there where I lived for 7 years.

Q: How do you spend your free time? Any hobbies or interests?
A: In my spare time I like to read books and visit the sick. I also like to ride my bicycle. My hobbies include writing and all hand work, like needlework, painting, etc,

Q: Do you have any favorite TV programs or favorite books?
A: I do not have any favorite TV programs but like to watch movies. My most special book is the Bible because from reading it, I learn how to live. It also answers all my questions.

Q: What kind of things do you dislike?
A: I do not like to get up early in the morning.

Q: Where did you work before you came here?
A: I taught religion classes to students from grade 1-8 in Serbia. I was actively involved working with children with special needs, and volunteered to work with seniors.

Q: If you weren't working here, what would you want to be doing instead?
A: I would like to work with elderly people because they need help and I want to help them.

Q: What do you like about your job here at IHMS?
A: I like the school, the school programs, and the methods of learning. I also like the positive atmosphere of the staff and teachers.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you like to go?
A: My dream is to visit Rome because it is the land that is very meaningful for me as a Catholic. I love and respect very much the late Pope John Paul II and would like to visit his resting place.

Q: What is your biggest accomplishment so far in life?
A: My greatest accomplishment is that I have learned to forgive all the hurts done to me.

Q: If you were granted three wishes, what would they be?
A: a) No more wars; b) No one would be hungry; c) Families would be strong and stay together.

Q: What would you like to accomplish in the future?
A: I would like to live a life of love and be faithful to do God's will.

Q: What is something interesting about yourself that most people don’t know?
A: I speak many languages: Ukrainian, Russian, Old Slavonic, Serbian, Croatian, and am learning English.

Q: If you could describe yourself in one word, what would it be?
A: Tender-hearted.
