School Relocation Information:

June 2005 - June 2008

Immaculate Heart of Mary School on it's present location at 650 Flora Avenue

Emails received:

1) I would like to have a new school with a safe and nice area. A bigger school and for this new school to go all the way through high school. I would love to be able to stay at IHMS. I would like for the teachers to be able to have a more bigger lounge and more time to relax. I wish for the relocation plans to hurry ahead because I would love to be in a new school before I graduate.

2) Instead of leaving an exceptional building and 'running away', why not aggressively lobby the city to upgrade the area, bring in more public access facilities like libraries, sports facilities, etc. and raise funds to buy out properties around the school instead of abandoning the area. It is after all an historically important area for Ukrainians in this city. We should work towards improving the area and not be forced to leave what our parents and grandparents worked so hard to build and maintain to today. This would require a committed, cooperative and non-relenting spirit on our part. We can build a strong case... we should be rewarded for maintaining and even improving the area to date.
